- Profile and onboarding information: full name, user type or situation, current stage, country of origin, UK city, priority areas, onboarding status and optional profile photo or avatar.
- Progress and saved content: journey step statuses, checked items in journey tasks, journey sections started, saved vendors, saved Discovery items, completion prompts you have dismissed, notification read status and similar app preferences.
- Notification and device information: notification preferences, a stable per-install device key, device platform, push notification token where push notifications are enabled, and sign-in/security notification metadata.
- Communications: information you send when contacting us for support, requesting changes to Discovery listings, or communicating with us by email or another channel.
- Third-party links and booking pages: if you choose to open an external resource, booking page or service provider link, that third party may collect information from you under its own privacy policy.
We do not intentionally collect government ID numbers, visa documents, payment card details, precise GPS location, health data or biometric identifiers through the current mobile app.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- create, authenticate and manage your account;
- provide password reset, account security and account deletion features;
- complete onboarding and personalise guidance, plans, journeys, Discovery content and saved resources;
- sync progress and saved items across devices when you are signed in;
- show in-app notifications and, where enabled, push notifications;
- send account security alerts and service messages;
- respond to support requests and listing correction or removal requests;
- maintain, troubleshoot and protect the app, website and backend services;
- understand and improve core product functionality, where we have appropriate lawful grounds to do so;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information. The current mobile app code does not include third-party advertising tracking.
3. Lawful bases for using information
Where UK data protection law applies, we rely on one or more of the following lawful bases:
- Contract: to provide the app, account features, authentication, profile functionality, saved content, progress sync and requested services.
- Consent: for optional features such as push notifications, profile photo upload, optional marketing or email updates, and any potentially sensitive profile details where consent is required by law. You can withdraw consent by changing settings, removing optional information, deleting your account or contacting us.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the service secure, prevent misuse, respond to support requests, improve reliability, maintain Discovery listings and understand non-intrusive usage patterns, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
- Legal obligation: where we need to keep or disclose information to comply with applicable law, regulatory obligations, court orders or lawful requests.
Some profile information, such as country of origin or migration-related circumstances, may reveal sensitive aspects of your personal situation. We use this information to personalise guidance and do not use it for advertising or unrelated profiling.
4. Notifications
LandingGuide may provide in-app notifications, local push-style alerts and remote push notifications where supported by your device and enabled in settings.
We use notification preferences, a device key, device platform and, where available, a push token to deliver notifications and account security alerts. You can manage notification preferences in the app and can also disable push notifications through your device settings.
5. Local storage on your device
The app stores some information locally so it can work smoothly and preserve your preferences. This may include your session, profile cache, journey progress, saved items, notification settings, read notification IDs, content cache and device key.
You can remove locally stored app data by signing out, deleting your account where available, clearing the app's storage through your device settings or uninstalling the app. Some information may remain on our backend until it is deleted under this policy or applicable law.
6. Sharing your information
We may share information with:
- backend, database, hosting, storage and infrastructure providers that help us operate the app and website;
- authentication, email and notification providers that help us send service emails, password reset messages and push notifications;
- support and operations tools used to respond to requests and maintain the service;
- external booking or resource providers, but only when you choose to open or use their services;
- professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement or courts where required or permitted by law;
- a successor organisation if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring or sale of assets.
Service providers may only process personal information for our instructed purposes and must protect it appropriately.
Current services and processors to confirm before publishing: Cloudflare (hosting/edge infrastructure), Supabase (database and authentication), Resend (email). Other providers such as push notification services, website analytics tools and booking providers will be listed once confirmed.
7. Discovery listings and public information

Organisations or individuals may request updates, corrections or removal of a listing by contacting support@landingguide.io.
8. International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
Where data protection law requires safeguards for international transfers, we use appropriate measures such as adequacy regulations, standard contractual clauses, equivalent contractual protections or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

We do not use this personalisation to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
12. Security
We use administrative, technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. These measures may include access controls, encrypted connections, authentication protections, logging and provider security controls.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your password and device secure and for telling us if you believe your account has been compromised.
